Our trip to Strasbourg wasn’t originally planned but it was cheaper for us to pick up our second car in France rather than in Germany. Also our good friend Joe Vanzella who is a pilot for Cathay Pacific, had a 72 hour layover in Paris, so planned to catch up with us. The relaxing 2 hour train trip from Paris turned into a tough 5 hour drive due to a French train strike.
Car number 2 – Renault Kadjur
After four months without a car, Scott was very excited to pick up another new car. The pickup place was a random service station out near the airport. Thanks Jo V for the ride.

Boozy afternoon with Jo and Tamika
It was a lovely sunny afternoon and we found a great restaurant on the river. So we tasted the local wines.

The Black Forest
The Black Forest gets its name from the oppressive canopy of evergreens looming above the forest floor. Home to elaborate cuckoo clocks, striking half-timbered houses, ruined castles and quaint towns. Baden Baden is only a short drive from Strasbourg to do a hike through the Black Forest and of course eat a block forest cake post hike.
